Commonly Asked Questions

What do the kids do everyday? The daily and weekly schedules are provided to parents each week so they can see specifically what their children will be doing. There is a very wide variety of activities we do each day including arts and crafts, fitness activities like tennis, basketball, tumbling, kickboxing, cycling, racquetball, baseball, Zumba and more depending on the children’s age and interest. In addition, there are physical games played inside and outside. Valley View Park is also close and the kids go there at least once a week and they swim in our Aquatics Area every day except on some of the field trip days. There are board games and other activities offered as well.
How are the kids divided by age groups? This is decided based upon the activity. For transition periods of time (drop off and pick up) kids are usually all together. For specific activities kids may be divided by age groups depending on the age appropriateness of the activity.
Do the kids spend a lot of time outside? Yes! Our “Base Camp” is located outside and is a large enclosed tent. Each day the kids are dropped off and picked up here. We do spend time in the tent for arts and crafts, games, lunch and more. In addition, we spend time in the field, tennis courts, volleyball court and patio for various activities. Kids should plan on being outdoors and always bring sunscreen (applying it as well before they come). Hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. Water is provided for the kids throughout the day to keep them well hydrated.
The hours of summer camp are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. What if I need to drop them off earlier or pick them up later? Gap time is available for parents between 7:15 am - 8:00 am and 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm. See Camp Information and/or Registration for Gap Time fees.
What if I want to drop off later than 8:00 am or pick up earlier than 5:00 pm? The latest time for drop off in the morning is 9:00 am (except on specified field trip days). We try to avoid late drop off because it makes it difficult to get kids checked in at all different times, and can make it more difficult for your child to integrate into activities. Since we plan specific activities each day based on the number of kids enrolled. However, we understand that some times later drop off may be necessary due to doctor appts. and other things that come up. Please discuss this with the Program Director. If pick up is earlier than 5:00 pm, you need to sign your child out at the designated area (indicated on the white board at the tent). The exception is on field trip days in which all children are required to be here at the designated times.
Can children be involved in swim lessons and tennis lessons during summer camp? Swim lessons and tennis lessons for kids are offered at the club year round, for both members and non-members. If your child is signed up during summer camp hours, our staff will ensure they get to their lesson and back. We prefer the lessons are not during the noon lunch hour, and lessons cannot be on Thursdays due to field trips. Please make sure you alert the Program Director to the lesson you are interested in for more information.
What are the options for lunch and/or snacks? Each day the children should bring a water bottle. We provide water frequently throughout the day. Parents should send a (non-refrigerated) snack each day for morning and we will provide an afternoon snack. Parents should also provide a lunch or they may choose Subway. If you choose Subway, please fill out the order sheet provided at the club or online. Payment for Subway is required through gift cards which can be refilled.
What if someone else other than a parent is going to pick the child up? There is a specific form that needs to be filled out if anyone other than the child’s parents will be picking up the kids. This includes siblings and any other family member or friend. We cannot release a child without this form being signed as a state requirement, and of course, for the safety of the child. When you fill out the form, you can indicate if a person is allowed to pick up your child regularly and only one form needs to be filled out for that person.
What if it rains? Thunderstorms including lighting, thunder, high winds, and heavy rain will keep the kids indoors for the duration of the storm. This also holds true for excessive heat. We provide them with continual activities as we would outside. If it is a light rain with no storm threat, we may still do activities in the tent.
What if I need to reach my child during the day? All parents are provided with the camp cell phone number. In the event of an emergency and you cannot reach the camp, you can call the club at 414-427-1100 and they will summons a camp counselor.
How do I pay for Kids Camp? See registration form for full details on payment. Early bird registration is available through May 15th. For your convenience, you may set up automatic monthly payment. Before the registration deadline, you register for all days of desired enrollment. You must set up a credit card or banking information with us and pay the first week upfront plus all of the field trips. From there, we auto-charge the days for each month on the 1st (i.e. all enrolled June days are auto-billed June 1st, all days in July on July 1st, and so on).
What if I need to cancel a day? See the Full Policies for cancellation. If you cancel before June 1st, all fees will be fully refunded. Any cancellations after June 1st will be a 50% prorated refund only with a 2 week notice. If your child does not show up on a day they are scheduled, we will attempt to contact you. There is no refund on summer camp fees paid. However, you can discuss with the Program Director substituting another day as long as the absence is discussed at least two weeks in advance and there is availability for a substitute day. Credits or refunds are not given for missed days.
